Terms of Service
Effective: October 15, 2026 (previous version effective October 14, 2026)
Article 1 (Purpose)
These terms govern the conditions and procedures for using the Welly service ("Service") provided by Lion and the Lab ("Company").
Article 2 (Service Description)
The Service is an AI-based wellness coach app that provides the following features:
- AI coach chat: self-care conversations that suggest a next step. When urgent warning signs appear, you are told to seek medical care.
- Pain check-in: stretching routines and guide videos matched to the area and symptoms you pick on a body map, and pain logs
- Daily routines for living with a condition, such as atopic dermatitis, allergic rhinitis, migraine, acid reflux and trouble sleeping, with checklists and symptom logs
- Walk, run and cycle programmes with GPS route recording (stored on your device) and optional Apple Health / Health Connect sync
- Regional health guides with preventive habits for where you live
- Water and meal logging and nutrition guidance, exercise, pain and symptom logs and trends, reminders and a home-screen widget
- A paid subscription (Welly Pro) and in-app ads for free users
Article 3 (Not a Medical Service)
- The Service is not a medical device or medical service and is not intended to diagnose, treat or prevent any disease. Pain-related information, exercise suggestions and AI coach replies in Welly are general self-care information, not a medical diagnosis or medical advice.
- The Service does not replace examination, diagnosis or prescription by a doctor. If pain is severe or persistent, or comes with chest pain, trouble breathing, numbness, weakness, swelling, fever or an injury, stop exercising and seek medical care right away. Warning-sign guidance in the app does not replace emergency care.
- If you are pregnant, live with a chronic condition, or have had surgery or an injury, talk with your clinician before starting.
- Stop immediately if pain worsens or you feel unwell during exercise. Unless the Company acted with intent or negligence, it is not liable for injuries that occur during exercise.
Article 4 (Accounts)
- You can start without signing in (guest mode) or sign in with Google, Kakao or email. Usage records are stored on our server in guest mode as well.
- You can delete your account and data under Profile → Delete account in the app, or request it at contact@lionandthelab.com; the Company processes requests without delay after confirming them.
Article 5 (Health Information)
- Health information such as pain, symptoms and AI chat messages is processed under the Privacy Policy and your separate consent.
- You may decline or withdraw consent to the collection and use of health information. Features that need it — saving pain logs, syncing daily-routine logs and the AI chat — are then limited, and the rest of the Service remains available.
Article 6 (Paid Service and Ads)
- Welly Pro is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. It removes ads (banner, full-screen and rewarded ads) and lifts the daily limit on AI consultations that applies to free users. All other features are provided in the same way whether or not you subscribe. Prices are shown on the purchase screen.
- Payment is made through Google Play or the App Store, and the subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends. You can cancel any time in your store account settings; refunds follow each store's policy and applicable law.
- Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; cancel it separately in the store.
- Free users may see in-app ads.
Article 7 (User Obligations)
- Users must not use the Service for illegal or inappropriate purposes.
- Users must not abuse the AI coach feature or intentionally disrupt the system.
- Users must not reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit content within the Service without authorization.
Article 8 (Intellectual Property)
- Intellectual property rights in the Service's UI, design, software and exercise content belong to the Company or the rightful owners.
- Videos provided via YouTube are subject to the copyright of their respective creators.
- AI-generated guidance and coaching content may only be used for personal purposes.
Article 9 (Limitation of Liability)
- The Company is not liable for service unavailability that occurs without its intent or negligence, such as network failures or external service disruptions (AI services, YouTube, etc.).
- AI-generated guidance and exercise suggestions may contain errors, and the Company does not guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
- Unless the Company acted with intent or negligence, it is not liable for health-related decisions users make based on information in the Service.
Article 10 (Service Changes and Termination)
- The Company may modify or temporarily or permanently discontinue the Service.
- Users will be notified in advance through in-app announcements when the Service is changed or discontinued.
Article 11 (Changes to Terms)
The Company may modify these terms and will announce changes on this page and in the app. If you do not agree with the revised terms, you may stop using the Service and delete your account.

By using the Service, you are deemed to have agreed to these terms.
The previous version (effective October 14, 2026) applied until October 14, 2026. This revision updates the service description (AI coach, daily routines, walk/run/cycle, regional health guides) and sign-in methods to match the current app, adds in-app account deletion, separate consent for health information, and the paid subscription (Welly Pro) and ads, and removes the pregnancy and injury-recovery care the app no longer offers. The version before that (last updated March 7, 2026) applied until October 13, 2026.
